How to Wear Sweat Pants with Style
Some of you may debate whether or not sweat pants can ever truly be worn with style.
The reality is, even the most stylish of us have moments when we feel like slipping into kick-back comfort-wear.
We're all human. Notwithstanding, even wearing these - the most relaxed of casual-wear - does not permit the violation of basic fashion sense.
Styles
Remember the sweat pants that kids used to wear back in grade two, in the pre 'Gap Kids' era?
You know, the ones with the two-inch ankle cuffs? Yeah, well those sweat pants should never be worn, under any circumstances. If you own a pair, slice them up and use the remains as dust rags.
Opt for draw-string pants over elasticized waistlines whenever possible; they sit better on the hips. Go for straight or slightly flared-legged pants that cover the tops of your sneakers.
Yoga pants may also be categorized as a trendy, more breathable version of the sweat pant, so with the exception of hem-length (yoga pants often look cute in cropped styles) all the same rules apply.
Sizing
Wear your size. Nothing looks more dumpy than oversized sweat pants.
While many people wear sweats in an attempt to camouflage certain 'danger zones' such as a bloated tummy or the repercussions of all those holiday goodies, oversized clothes end up looking a lot worse than those so-called imperfections you're trying to hide.
